Privacy Policy

Your privacy is important to us. This policy explains how OCDify, a software product owned by Vyan Labs, collects, uses, and protects your personal information. The Desktop App section comes first, followed by website-specific practices.

Desktop App (OCDify for Mac)

OCDify is a Mac app that organizes files locally on your device. We designed it to keep your data on your computer.

In Short

  • Your file contents never leave your Mac. All AI classification runs on a local model on your computer.
  • The app has no user accounts. There is nothing to sign up for.
  • The app runs no analytics, ads, or tracking.

Information the App Collects

We collect no personal information through the OCDify app itself. Specifically:

  • File contents: read on your device, processed by a local AI model, never transmitted to us or any third party.
  • File names and folder structure: used only to move files into folders you've configured. Not transmitted.
  • Account info: none — the app has no login.
  • Usage analytics: none — we don't track which features you use.
  • Crash reports: collected only by Apple via macOS's standard system reporting, if you've opted into Apple's crash reporting in System Settings. We do not run our own crash reporting.

Network Connections the App Makes

For the app to function, OCDify connects to the internet in these limited cases:

  • First-launch model download: OCDify downloads its AI model from Hugging Face (huggingface.co). This is a one-time download (~1 GB). Hugging Face's privacy policy applies to that connection: https://huggingface.co/privacy.
  • Update checks: OCDify periodically checks for new app versions. This connection sends your app version and macOS version (no user identifier, no IP logging by us beyond what's standard for any HTTPS request).

After the model download, OCDify works fully offline.

Third Parties (App)

The only third party the app connects to is Hugging Face, for the one-time model download. We do not share any data from the app with advertisers, analytics providers, or data brokers — we don't use any.

App Data Storage

  • The AI model and any caches are stored in your user Library directory on your Mac.
  • Files you organize stay on your Mac, in the folders you choose.
  • Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no Vyan Labs server holding your data.

Your Privacy Choices in the App

Even though OCDify collects no personal data, you can control its behavior:

  • Disable the network entirely after first launch. Once the model has downloaded, you may run OCDify offline. Update checks will simply fail silently.
  • Decline file access. macOS will prompt before OCDify can read folders. You can revoke access at any time in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Files and Folders.
  • Delete the app and all its data. Drag OCDify to the Trash, then remove ~/Library/Containers/com.vyanlabs.ocdify to delete cached models and settings.
  • Opt out of Apple's crash reporting. System Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

You can exercise any of the rights below by emailing support@vyanlabs.in:

  • Right to access: ask whether we hold any information about you. (We don't, but you can confirm.)
  • Right to deletion: ask us to delete any information. (We have nothing to delete.)
  • Right to a copy: receive a copy of any data we hold about you. (Same — there is none.)
  • Right to object / restrict: tell us to stop any processing.
  • Right to lodge a complaint: contact your local data protection authority (e.g., the EU DPA in your country, the ICO in the UK).

Website

The sections below describe data practices for the OCDify website (purchases, downloads, analytics) — separate from the desktop app covered above.

Information We Collect

We only ask for personal information when we truly need it to provide a service to you. We collect it by fair and lawful means, with your knowledge and consent. We also let you know why we’re collecting it and how it will be used.

The only personal information we store is the following, which is collected during the purchase process:

  • Your email address.
  • Your phone number.

This information is stored solely for the purpose of purchase tracking and license key management. We do not share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

Website Analytics and Tracking

We use a dual analytics system to balance business needs with your privacy. We collect two types of data with different privacy requirements:

Essential Business Metrics (No Consent Required)

For legitimate business operations and legal compliance, we collect basic analytics that help us understand our service performance:

  • Download counts by country
  • Purchase completion rates
  • Revenue by region (amounts and currency)
  • Basic error tracking
  • Legal compliance tracking: Terms and conditions acceptance records with email addresses for audit purposes
  • Purchase audit trail: Records of purchase attempts and completions for legal compliance

Legal basis: Legitimate business interest for operational analytics and legal compliance. Compliance tracking includes minimal personal data (email addresses) as required by law for purchase agreements and consumer protection.

Detailed User Analytics (Requires Your Consent)

With your explicit consent, we use PostHog to collect detailed analytics that help us improve user experience:

  • Page views and navigation patterns
  • Button clicks and user interactions
  • Device information (browser type, operating system)
  • Session recordings and user journeys
  • Individual user behavior analysis
  • Cross-session tracking with personal identifiers

Your control over detailed analytics:

  • You can accept or decline detailed analytics via our cookie banner
  • If you decline, only essential business metrics are collected
  • You can change your preference at any time by clearing your browser cookies
  • Detailed analytics data is automatically deleted after 12 months
  • Essential business metrics are retained for 24 months for operational purposes

Data protection: All analytics data is stored securely and is not shared with third parties. We use this data only to improve our website and services.

Data Security

We protect the data we store within commercially acceptable means to prevent loss and theft, as well as unauthorized access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies with a privacy-first approach. Some cookies are essential for basic functionality, while others require your consent.

Types of cookies we use:

  • Essential cookies: Required for basic site functionality and remembering your privacy preferences (no consent required)
  • Business analytics cookies: Collect anonymous statistics for operational purposes (no personal data, no consent required)
  • Detailed analytics cookies: Track user behavior and interactions for service improvement (requires your consent)
  • Session cookies: Maintain your session while browsing our site (essential, no consent required)

Cookie consent: You can control which cookies we use:

  • If you accept: We collect both essential business metrics and detailed user analytics to provide the best experience
  • If you decline: We only collect essential business metrics and functionality cookies - no personal tracking occurs
  • Your choice is remembered and can be changed by clearing browser cookies

Ad Blockers and Analytics

Our website uses PostHog for analytics to help us improve our services. If you have an ad blocker enabled, you may see some console errors related to analytics, but this will not affect the core functionality of our website or your ability to make purchases.

What this means:

  • Website analytics may not work properly
  • All core features (purchases, downloads, etc.) will continue to work normally
  • You may see some console warnings, which can be safely ignored

If you'd like to help us improve our website by allowing analytics, you can whitelist our domain in your ad blocker, but this is completely optional.

Links to Other Sites

Our website may link to external sites that are not operated by us. Please be aware that we have no control over the content and practices of these sites, and cannot accept responsibility or liability for their respective privacy policies.

Children's Privacy

OCDify is not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

International Users

The OCDify app processes your files entirely on your own device, regardless of where you live. No data crosses borders through us.

Changes to This Policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date below. Material changes will be highlighted in the app's release notes.
